My name is Shayra Enid
Rodriguez Rodriguez and I was conceived in Windham Hospital on December 14,
1994. I lived the majority of my childhood in a small town called Norwich,
where I learned to use the diversity of creativity and imagination. Also I
studied my primary years in Greeneville Elementary School; there I learned of
my interest in books and my long termed goals. My ingenious child- life took me
on many adventures, such as being a pirate, I loved to climb rocks, trees and
on winter days I would invent all sorts of objects with ice and snow.
Though I was the first
child born in the household, throughout the years I enjoyed the upcoming of
three other babies, all of which shared many cherished moments of my life. My
brother Kevin Ruben Rodriguez Rodriguez was born when I was only about three
years of age; he was my only companion when it came to playing Barbie’s even
though he played with action figures or cars. Then follows my only sister
Jarielysse Rodriguez Rodriguez , I was about six then; she was a problem when
it came to changing her diapers and I became as if a second mother to her,
despite of being her older sister. Joxel Ruben Rodriguez Rodriguez came along
when I was seven and he was and is just trouble, the boy though a total
sweetheart at times can be a complete meanie and disturbance, yet always helps
his older sister in times of need. My little ones and I moved from Norwich,
Connecticut to Cleveland, Ohio after the separation of my mother and biological
father. We left after a hard year to Cleveland with my step father; there we
moved various times and attended various school, all which were mostly
kindergarten through ninth grade.
Living in Ohio was
interesting mostly because there was a library in every corner, so even though
I moved three to four times around the huge city there was always a place to
read in peace and meet new friends. Also the good thing of living in a city was
that there were always nearby restaurants unlike the small town of Norwich. In
Ohio I spent my days walking around outside, as well cheer on the Cleveland
Cavaliers especially when Lebron James was the star. My family and I also travelled
a lot by car to Connecticut and other nearby states, since we are all very
adventurous. For example, once we even went to Toronto, Canada on an expedition
to New York to see Niagara Falls, we just appeared there. The freezing city
next to Lake Eerie was spectacular as I envisioned it; there was always
something to do.
Three to four years
after living in Ohio my mother and step father decided to move to Puerto Rico,
seeking a new opportunity. I graduated with honors in Francisco Gaztambide Vega
and enjoyed every step towards that achievement. Recently I am approaching
towards completing a bachelor’s degree in Forensic Psychology in the University
of Puerto Rico in Carolina. My future goal is to dedicate my strategies in the
terms of justice and most certainly become a lawyer or any further position in
the legal field.
